1802 By Old Fort Pierce, Plein Air

This is at the old Fort Park on Indian River Drive. Beautiful skies, and lots of birds! Saw the ibises, snowy egret, osprey, gulls and little blue heron. That little cut of water is fresh water, flowing into the salt water estuary there. The birds like to come and take baths and drink from it.

The painting is 11 x 14, oil on masonite.

This was from a photo I took at JayCee Park here in Fort Pierce.  The sailing class was there and it was a lot of fun watching the boats and children.

Blue Heron Flyby Plein Air Original Oil Painting

This is at the Savannas Recreational area off Midway road in Ft. Pierce, how it looked in the morning, by noon it was cloudy and we had a few nice sprinkles of rain. Nice breeze from the east and I saw the blue heron flying past just where he is in the painting. So I am naming it "Blue Heron Flyby"
 Its 8 x 10 inches,
palette knife painting, oil on Masonite.

1800 Fishing out at the Preserve, Plein Air

I did this today out at the George LeStrange Preserve in Ft. Pierce.  Lovely day out, wasn't too hot till about noon, it was 91 when I got home.  Its painted with palette knife, a big one!  I had left my normal size one at home, wasn't sure if it would come out or not.  Then when I was about finished I found a medium sized knife I had packed away in my bag so finished with that one.

Everything was done on site except for the fisherman, I put him in when I got home.

The painting is 8 x 10 inches, oil on masonite.

"Blossoms" by Paula Formanek

What's on My Easel?? ...
Inspired by a beautiful apple tree in my backyard, I actually started this one last Spring but the thick ðŸŽ¨paint🎨 took a long time to 'dry' ... I got back to it a few days ago, before I picked up the flu. Just looking at it makes me feel better ... I will call it 'Blossoms', thick oil with knife impasto on canvas, still a WIP ...

"Shelly Sheep" by Lynda Cookson

Shelly the sheep was a daft animal who lived in the fields next to our house in Ireland. She would occasionally find a way to go AWOL from her field and come and stare me out through my studio window, slobbering on the glass. She had that wonderful, bossy stare that those black-faced sheep seem to know how to do so well!

"Umbrella Flower" by Lynda Cookson

Please click the image to see the entire painting.

Second to last day ... and after deciding that I don't want to always do a painting a day ... I'm going to miss it! Silly. I think it suits sometimes ... and not other times when I want to really get stuck into a big project. And that's the pleasure of living a seesaw life LOL
