"Daisies" by Lynda Cookson
Home and Office Wall Decor (in other words, me and my family team!) are now offering original paintings on our new Etsy Storefront, starting off with Stock Clearance prices. The paintings will be shipped unframed as a further cost saver and shipping is included in the price.
I'm loving trawling through all my images, both photographic and paintings, as I upload them to my various Etsy storefronts ... and, after feeling a little stale for a few months, my fingers are starting to itch again with the anticipation of painting fresh works.
"Daisies" is a medium size, palette knife, oil painting with all the depth and energy you would expect from this medium and technique. Her vibrance speaks for itself :-)
Not shown in the image below, is the monogram signature in the bottom right hand corner of the painting. Here you can see my logo watermark. The original painting has my monogram etched into the paint.

These Minaiture Treasure paintings are fun to paint. It often takes a
few tries (i.e. wiping off!) to get the right feeling for these small
paintings. It's a balance between enough and too much detail.
My 'miniature treasure' paintings are small paintings, usually 4"x4"
that I paint to warm up or if I only have short time to paint (although often they take longer ). The
problem is that they are addictive to paint and so I start building up a
series. Each one has the same heavy impasto as my larger paintings,
click on the photo to enlarge it.
They are a great affordable way to start an art collection and will add spots of colour around the house. They can be framed or displayed on a mini easel.

Blue Breeze Daisies is the daily newbie in Flower Mound Studio - try saying that three times fast, at midnight, after painting until midnight for six nights in a row! Not that I'm complaining, I love my job. And it seems the muses really do prance about at their colorful best at midnight, now why is that I wonder? I often wonder if my normal friends wonder what it is that motivates an artist to quit her "real job" to paint and dabble all day. Cherry Jubilee Daisies was my class demonstration this morning in my North Texas workshop. Every student in class stretched their wings and created daisies in their own style, such is the fruit of painting from life rather than photographs or patterns. Life's Peachy White Daisies was just about dry by the time I arrived home from my New Orleans visit - I had the great good fortune to be the guest of Sylvia Arb, a lovely artist and teacher, a history buff, and an amazing hostess to boot. She took me to one of the grandest plantations in Louisiana, The Sugar Palace, also known as Houmas House. Seems only appropriate I should visit that one first, don't you think, especially since we capped it off in their restaurant with chocolate creme brulee...!

Pink Larkspur Daisy Duet is the newest daily painting in the studio today. I felt just a bit like I was cheating, since I was painting instead of working on tags and inventory sheets for my show at the Dallas Arboretum April 26-27. All the paintings are stacked neatly into categories, leaning against walls and furniture throughout my house, hither and yon. I did take a bit of a break earlier today, the hubby and I went to World Market and got a few new adirondack chairs - check out my art blog today to see what the color Baltic Blue looks like! I got the impression Howard Pee Pugpants approved of the new chair, although I cannot say for certain, since I don't speak Pug....
