Mini paintings inspired by the ocean at Galicia
I have two left from the collection of three mini paintings on mini easels inspired by the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Galicia in Spain. We were there three years ago and it remains fresh and alive and sunny in my heart!
This one, "Galicia No 1" can be found on my Wild Summers website ... or simply click any of the images or their titles to be taken through to the correct page.

"Welcome Basket" by Lynda Cookson
"Welcome Basket" is rather a large painting which hung in the restaurant of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Galway, Ireland for 4 or 5 years before we moved from Ireland to France.
She measures 1 metre x 1.2 metres and adds a lovely warmth and glow to a room ... probably why she deserves the name "Welcome Basket"!

"Wild Profusion" by Lynda Cookson
"Wild Profusion" grew on me gradually. I challenged myself to work with a different colour palette as well as a longer (less rectangular) canvas than I usually use ... and to begin with the changes were too much for me! We humans are not particular to change, are we! However, I lived with it for a while until I reached the point I was happy to put it out there.
This cheerful painting is now for sale, unframed as yet, but painted around the edges, from my website HERE or click the images or their titles to be taken through to the sales page.

"Poppy Amongst Lavender" by Lynda Cookson
I've just returned from a visit to my daughter and three granddaughters in the UK. The eldest two girls are old enough to feel special about a day alone with granny. The seven year old, Evie, decided that a day at the Lavender farm, picking armfuls of lavender, was her choice .... but she forgot about all the bees! Never mind, calm reactions meant that the bees were soon forgotten and a paper bag was filled with not only purple lavender, but white lavender as well.
Amongst the lavender, wild Poppies were growing ... which brought this little study into being.
"Poppy Amongst Lavender" is available for sale HERE or click either of the two images below or their titles.

"My Rainbow Roots" by Lynda Cookson
This painting has long since been painted over! I came across it today and was reminded of the day I painted it. I was so homesick ... I was living in Ireland (which I loved) but am South African born and anyone from anywhere in Africa knows how it gets in your blood, reaches your heart, and just won't let go! I was longing for the bright colours and the smell of dust.
It was an expressive painting but not one which I felt could be sold ... so it hung around for a while, working its therapy, until the day came when I was brave enough to say goodbye and paint over it.

"Jug of Daisies" by Lynda Cookson
Daisies are my favourite flower. I love their freshness, their perkiness and their purity. And what better place to put them than in a favourite jug bought on my travels to Portugal.
"Jug of Daisies" is oil on paper. Please click the image to go through to the sales page.

"Drama in the Garden" by Lynda Cookson
The intensity of ink paintings is phenomenal! For me it's quite a difficult medium to use because I like good, strong colour at the best of times, but inks give you that and double. This floral painting could only have the word "Drama" in it ... it just had to be! Please click the image to purchase.

"The Morning-After Bunny" by Lynda Cookson
I was away in the UK in Milly the Motorhome for the whole of July which meant no palette knife paintings or oils for me ... but Calligraphy inks instead. I had loads of fun with this new medium learning how to use it, and letting it do its own thing on the paper. "The Morning-After Bunny" is so named because of the expression on his face! Click to purchase this characterful little character.

Collage of Ballet Shoe Paintings by Lynda Cookson
Swishing along with my painting collages for the moment, as a teenager there was no way on earth my paternal parent was going to let me take art lessons or art as a subject at school - so my creative life began with music and dancing. Not ballet dancing ... ballroom dancing. I went on, in my early 20s, to open my first business - a Dance Studio where I taught basic ballroom dancing and, because it was the early 80s ... disco dancing! (I know as you read that, that your arm shot up in the air pointing straight at the ceiling and you thought of John Travolta!!!)
With dancing in mind, I produced a series of ballet shoe paintings.
These are still for sale from my website www.WildSummers.com
