"Irish Cottage" by Lynda Cookson
Everyone has a soft spot for Ireland and you can still find quaint old thatched roof cottages like this one, set in beautiful flower gardens, in villages all around Ireland.

"Ruin Above the Mist" was inspired by the wide open spaces, the big skies, where ancient ruins watch out over the lands in Ireland.
It's damp and cool where the blues, greens and grey rule. Crispness dominates in both temperature and view clarity. Ireland breaks all the gauges when it comes to measuring beauty ... too much to measure!

"Killary Fjord with Rhodedendrons" by Lynda Cookson
This is from a mini series I did in Ireland. This one is from Leenane in Connemara where Killary Fjord is the only fjord in Ireland.
I'm thinking of doing more minis (4" x 4") soon ... perhaps of harbour scenes here in Brittany. Perhaps putting this up here will get me going!! LOL

"Green Tea Pot" by Lynda Cookson
This is reaching back a few years when some studies and daily paintings were signed TPP as they were done as demos for students of my studio, The Painters' Palette. TPP was the official signature of work produced in The Painters' Palette studio. They sold on eBay at the time (I no longer run an eBay store).
I have always loved tea pots, for what they represent as well as for their shape ... fat and round with useful appendages and an interesting lid to top it off. To me they represent family and friends, comfort and home - and all that goes with that.
So I present "Green Tea Pot" ...

"A Spiritual Journey" by Lynda Cookson
The wind is howling today, spattering rain drops on windows and thoroughly wetting everything I have outside which I'm trying to keep dry! We've recently moved house and haven't been able to put everything in its allotted space yet. So I thought a little bit of peace and calm was required. Hence "A Spiritual Journey" with its calm green, dusky pink and cloudy blue.

Abstract Daily Painting, "Layers", Seascape, 6x8" SOLD
![]() |
| SOLD |
Well, maybe it's not exactly abstract, but it's not exactly impressionistic either. I easily get confused over all the different types of "abstract" works.
Therefore, I will just proclaim that it is painted freely and freshly, just like the sea.
What would you call this style?

Breaking Through by Lynda Cookson
"Breaking Through" ... I love this abstract. I can feel the sun, the warmth of that sun, a warm evening sky, the sea, and the white foam of the waves.
A residency at the restored stone cottage famine village of Cill Rialaig, near Ballinskelligs in Co Kerry, Ireland, was the inspiration for this acrylic on board. The strong winter wind whipped the foam from the top of the waves and blew it against the cliffs. That, together with the sense of all the ancient (and not so ancient) lives lived there created a very spiritual atmosphere. Absolutely wonderful weather and wonderful inspiration!
"Breaking Through" is for sale HERE ... or just click the image and you'll be taken through to the correct page where you'll find the price and the size of the painting.
