A self-taught artist and a late bloomer. I began painting as an outlet while attending college, in mid-life. My field of study was demanding and stressful and I needed a creative outlet. I fell in love with the feel of the brush and paint as it flowed on the canvas. I continue to be blessed to study with some awesome gifted artists. The most important roles in my life, wife, mother and grandmother, I was a "early bloomer" but there are many joys in being a late bloomer. God has richly blessed me. I sing His praises through brush strokes and color.

"Mixed Posy" by Lynda Cookson
It seems to be the case that orders shipped to South Africa can take up to 3 months to arrive!!! And orders shipped, from France, to Australia, can take more than a month! Sigh ... sadly out of the sender's control :-( This is a little thank you gift sent to a buyer in Australia who had to wait about 6 weeks for "The Big Pink" painting she had ordered to arrive .... here's "Mixed Posy" ...

"Chilly Spring Walk" by Lynda Cookson
It's just the right time of year for a "Chilly Spring Walk" in your local nature trail (if you're in the northern hemisphere like we are!). The days are really beautiful with ever-changing days of April showers, sunshine and nippy breezes, and light white clouds in the blue sky. All the little flowers are heralding the onset of Spring and I am having loads of fun picking little wild posies to dot around the house. Lawn Daisies are my favourites and I love how they pop up within hours of the lawn being mown.
My "Chilly Spring Walk" painting, oil on paper, is available as the ORIGINAL HERE

"It's Raining Outside" by Lynda Cookson
"It's Raining Outside" is an instant download image from an original oil painting on board by Lynda Cookson.
The original painting is for sale as well and can be found HERE : "It's Raining Outside"
Sitting in a hotel conservatory one rainy day in Co Galway (Connemara) Ireland, with the rain spattering loudly on the glass of the conservatory, the only happy subject to be painted was a stunning potted plant of white geraniums. This is it. It captures both the beauty of the flowers and the wet feeling of the rainy day.

"Blue Teapot" by Lynda Cookson
Some paintings, even after being sold many years back, live with you - and inspire you - forever in so many ways. This is one of them for me :-) and I have the actual teapot to this day too!

"Poppy in Fields of Lavender" by Lynda Cookson
I recently had reason to send this little number out as a printable digital image ... and it's so nice to be reminded of the times specific paintings were created in :-) This one looked a little Christmassy ... I suppose the red did it!

I painted this in memory of my mom's 95th birthday. I miss her everyday. She loved her flower gardens.

"Seeley's Bay" by Paula Formanek
What's on my Easel?? ...
Today I'm painting outside in my garden ... it is hot and humid but there is a nice breeze from the lake.
I painted this one on location in Seeleys Bay last summer ... plan to finish it today, working with oil and knife on canvas
🎨 ... A happy Wednesday to everyone!
