This was from a photo I took at JayCee Park here in Fort Pierce. The sailing class was there and it was a lot of fun watching the boats and children.
The painting is 5 x 7 inches, oil on masonite. $100.00

"Tropical Flowers" by Lynda Cookson
I've recently, because of down-sizing and moving into a much smaller home, destroyed a few of the larger paintings I had in stock. "Tropical Flowers" wasn't one of those! She's hung in my bedroom for a few years now and is going straight back into our new bedroom pretty tout suite!

Daily Painting "Morning Sail" 6x8 Oil Landscape SOLD
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
--Mark Twain
The thing about sailing, is that it looks like a lot more fun than it actually is. I know, I know, that's just my opinion, so please don't get upset! I enjoyed my days on the boat and I still love to spend an afternoon sailing.
Now, when I see a sail boat heading out on a beautiful sunny day, it seems like a little piece of paradise.
The real thing almost never beats out imagination. It's easy to forget the day the sail ripped or the day we sailed home in a raging storm with lightening strikes all around us.
Today, I will imagine....and paint about it.
Happy Birthday to my baby girl, Shelly!

Caribbean Blues, by New York artist, Celeste Plowden
Shades of blue and aqua come together to create this abstract painting of the Caribbean Ocean. I was inspired to paint this when looking at some photos I took of a tropical island I visited, where, beyond the beach and palm trees, the sea sparkles, its colors varying in the sunlight. Acrylic on canvas, UV varnish, sides painted, wired and ready to hang. Painted with a palette knife for texture. 12x12, available for sale at my Chairish store.
