New Paintings by Paula Formanek

A new original "Golden Trio", oil with knife on panel, 20 x 25 cm, part of my "Sunflower Series". I completed this painting quickly with some leftover paint on my last day in Europe. It's now drying in my studio. Soon, I plan to use this to create a large painting.

This is one of my new paintings "Summer Sweet", oil with knife on panel 25 x 30 cm, recently painted en plein air near the Czech Forest.

Flower Painting, Sunflower Painting, Small Oil Painting, 12x16" Original Floral

Remember summer?  Now that I have moved, after living in Florida for 40 years, winter has slapped me in the face!  Even though it has been a very mild February, I long for the warmth of the sun.

I think this is an interesting viewpoint, looking up at a sunflower that was towering over me.

If you ever visit Waynesville, NC, look for Love Lane Flower Farm, where you can pick your flowers fresh.  They supply everything you need and you pay on the honor system.  How cool is that?

Hope you have a sunny day.

Cheers,

Carol

"A Sunflower Greeting" by Lynda Cookson

Good morning!

"A Sunflower Greeting" because the sun is shining, the birds are singing (even those noisy aul' Barn Owls) and the dog is nagging for a walk.

A Taste of Summer, sunflower and lavender by Marion Hedger

"A taste of summer" sunflower and lavender painting
by Marion Hedger
19x27cm, oil on canvas board, palette knife painting
SOLD

This is a rework of one of my Garden 101 series and fresh off the easel today. At the time, I put it in my discard pile, as, although I liked the concept, the painting did not come out as expected.

I am not having a lot of success with my iris paintings at the moment, so as a change, I got this painting out and reworked it using a palette knife and fresher looking paint.
I really like it now. Quite loose and fresh looking to my eyes. Let me know what you think.
This painting is sold, contact me about any other painting HERE

Sunflowers oil painting by Marion Hedger 6x6"

Sunny Day by Marion Hedger
Oil palette knife painting
6x6" on box canvas

Living in the South of France has it's disadvantages -- depression sets in if we have two consecutive grey days! A couple of weeks ago we had several days of heavy rain and  no sun. To cheer myself up, I got out the Cadmium yellow and painted these loose sunflowers. The colours and the act of putting lots of luscious paint onto canvas really cheered me up.

Daily Painting "Nature's Smiley Face" 6x8", Oil SOLD

Summer is finally here....and so are the sunflowers!

SOLD

I had a good time with this one, just layering on plenty of paint with my palette knife and not getting too upset about where it landed.

I find it impossible to look at this painting without having a smile on my face.  Now if I could just pull that off every day!

Enjoy!

SUMMER'S GONE, 6X6, OIL, SOLD

Don't you just love sunflowers?  They are so expressive the way they follow the sun with their heads.  I especially love the giant 7 foot tall ones.

I love the way they poke their heads between the slats of a fence as if they are saying hello and then they bow when their time is gone.

I am happy to announce that I have been invited to join DailyPainters.com.  I hope you will take the time to visit my gallery on their wonderful website.
