"Glebe House, Co Donegal, Ireland" by Lynda Cookson

I was recently reminded of a little trio I painted whilst traveling in Ireland a few years ago. Glebe House in Co Donegal which stands at the edge of Lough Gartan was the inspiration for these minis.

"Killary Fjord with Rhodedendrons" by Lynda Cookson

This is from a mini series I did in Ireland. This one is from Leenane in Connemara where Killary Fjord is the only fjord in Ireland.

I'm thinking of doing more minis (4" x 4") soon ... perhaps of harbour scenes here in Brittany. Perhaps putting this up here will get me going!! LOL

"Potted Mini Oranges" by Lynda Cookson

In a major effort to brighten up my studio and provide more still life subjects, I created an indoor flower garden in the large window of my studio. These mini potted oranges were one of the first finds to add their treasure to my garden.

"Potted Mini Oranges" is waiting to be framed so is not formally for sale yet ... but if you are interested, please email me HERE (lyndacookson@gmail.com) or click either of the images or their titles, and we can chat!

Mini Landscape by Janice Tingum

Mini Landscape
by Janice Tingum
Oil on panel
2" x 3"

This miniature was painted en plein air with a palette knife in a North Dakota field. It was a fun day - I worked on a larger piece and then a few small ones like this. As I painted, I heard a rustling in the tall grass near my easel. I looked over to see a gopher peeking out at me. Its curiosity satisfied, the gopher retreated into the grass again and disappeared.

Like an ACEO (art card), this little gem measures 2" x 3". It is painted on an Art Boards™ Natural Fiber Art Panel, which is 3/8th inch thick. The edges are painted white.

Campo Grande, Casa Poco, by Carrie Jacobson

Italian Hilltop Farm
Oil on gessoboard panel, 4x4, please contact me for price and delivery information

I have often laughed about my "big field, little house" paintings. Or my "campo grande, casa poco."

That's "big field, little house" in Italian.

Now that I am no longer so terrified of flying, I find myself wanting more and more to go to Italy. We have too many dogs, but the promise of Italy is the one good thing that I can see when I look ahead and see the deaths that are certainly coming.

This winter is the first that Kaja hasn't greeted the first snow - and every snow - by flopping on her back and rolling around. In fact, she stumbled in the snow this morning and needed help to get up.

But just when I think it is the end for her, she will do something like this: We decided to take her and a couple of the others out for a walk. Where we expected Kaja to turn back, she insisted on continuing. She climbed up a hill and then tramped on down the other side. I had to run to get ahead of her to turn her back toward home, and even then, she stumped purposefully past the turn-off and I had to run ahead of her and turn her again. (She is stone deaf, so there's not calling her).

So, Italy is something, but I'd rather have my old, stinky, arthritic dog.
