A Resident of the Woods......Palette Knife Painting by Peg Whitacre

While traveling out west it was often necessary to pull off the road simply to enjoy the views.  At one of these frequent stops, I noticed this lone bird sitting amid the beautiful woods quite close to the road.  Trusty camera at the ready, I was able to fire off this one shot.  The texture of the trees was perfect for the palette knife and with the exception of the bird itself, the painting was completed with the palette knife.  This painting  is oil on canvas, and is 16x14 in size.  It is available directly from the artist at pwhitacre@att.net.  Enjoy!
