This is a 6 x 6" Acrylic on wood panel dine with a palette knife.  The areas of deciduous trees where I live is somewhat limited so it's nice when we come upon a group in the process of changing colors.  Where I am it is mostly all Evergreens.   This comes nicely framed and ready to hang.

This was originally done just by brushwork.  I wasn't completely satisfied so I let it sit and just recently went back to it.  I decided to go over the whole piece (keeping the same basic painting) with Palette Knife.  I liked the finished effect much better.  Using the Palette Knife seemed to add just a bit more 'mystery' to the Painting. :)

Well I feel like Summer is just about finished and am ready for a beautiful Autumn.

Crimson, Golden leaves through the trees. Lot of color and texture, and it makes quite a focal point given

the very large size!

This painting is all about the sky, then the aspens leading down to the path.  Usually, it's the other way around in my paintings.  The path takes the viewer where I want their eye to lead.  I love this quote from Helen Keller.  Think about it, she couldn't see the sky.  However, she could smell the fresh air while feeling the wind on her skin (not listening to it).

I just finished this one inspired by

the lovely autumn color all around me here in Virginia.

It's getting colder every day and the leaves are about half dropped

and starting to lose their glorious color.

This one will last forever!

I'm painting like crazy because I'm about to take a bit of time off (well really only 4 days, but for me that's a lot!) My husband is running the Boston Marathon next week so we're off to Boston.
