"The earth is the LORD'S and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers." Psalm 24: 1-2

"Abstracted Daydream", is the title of my newly painted, 16"x20" acrylic palette knife painting, depicting an aspen forest at the edge of a river.  My painting was inspired by the above verses in Psalms.  I'm continually amazed at the beauty and grandeur of all that God has made.

The Aspen

tree art, atlanta artists, colorado art
©1990-2013 Aspen Art by Jill Saur, all rights reserved

I rendered these two 36"x48" aspen tree paintings as if they were aglow by the light of the moon in the dark of the darkest night.  It's no secret that I love aspens!  These two large paintings, "Circle of Quiet One" and "Circle of Quiet Two", have recently sold to a new collector.

My oversized paintings are usually purchased to be the focal point of a big room.  Also, a larger work of art can actually make a smaller room appear to be much bigger than it is.  To see more of my work, please visit my website. CLICK HERE

Colorado landscape paintings seem to be in my blood.  I'm in love with Colorado's beautiful mountains, fresh air, and of course the ever alluring aspen trees that evoke my spiritual and artistic senses.  I want to send a big thank you to all of my clients who have appreciated and collected my paintings over the years.  THANK YOU!

Aspen Palette Knife Painting

©1990-2013 Aspen Painting buy Jill Saur

My new 8"x10" palette knife oil painting, "Aspen Breeze", has just the right amount of texture to lead your eye into the ambient aspen forest and spark a daydream or two.  Andre Gide once said, "Art is a collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better".  It was from that collaboration that is painting was born.

American Art

© 1990-2013 Artwork Paintings by Jill Saur, all rights reserved

Pablo Picasso said, "The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off of our souls".  I love that quote!  My tag-line, "joy on canvas", is indicative of what my clients tell me they feel when they view my work.  That always makes me feel great because I pour my heart and soul into all my work.
My goal is for my work to emanate the joy and beauty of life.

This is one of my new small works of art.  This 8"x10" acrylic aspen tree palette knife painting is entitled, "Echoed Love".  It was inspired by my latest trip to Crested Butte, Colorado, where I spent an entire week photographing aspens and getting ideas for new paintings.  To purchase this painting, please contact me through my website.  I accept all major credit cards.  CLICK HERE

Palette Knife Painting

©1990-2013 Contemporary Art by Jill Saur, all rights reserved

You won't find these trees growing in Atlanta, Ga., but you will find them in the homes of my patrons here in the south.  Aside from my collectors around the country, I'm thankful to my clients in the south who appreciate the stunning beauty of an aspen tree forest!

This grouping, "Aspen Rhapsody In Snow", is a collection of three individual acrylic palette knife paintings on a wide border canvas that hang side by side.  All together, they measure 72" wide by 30" tall.  If there's just a hint of light in the room, these paintings emanate a beautiful glow.  To inquire about this piece, please contact me through my website. CLICK HERE

Aspen Trees by Jill Saur

©1990-2012 Aspen Art by Jill Saur, all rights reserved

"Aspen Dance" is one of my new oil paintings (8"x8").  I rendered this
using a palette knife.  I closed my eyes and mused on one of my trips to
Colorado, where the blue azure sky against the dancing white aspen trees
ignite a flame of inspiration.

This piece is for sale by contacting me at www.JillSaur.com.

Palette Knife Landscape Painting by Jill Saur

Aspen trees and birch trees on canvas are my favorite subject to paint!  These trees are brilliantly white and intoxicating in their beauty.

This 48"x36" brush and palette knife acrylic painting is titled, "Promising Journey".  I usually add a path in my paintings to take the viewer on a journey where they can imagine themselves walking amongst these vibrant trees, right into their own future!

This original painting is available by contacting me through my website, and if you are not ready to purchase an original work of art, I also offer this in a limited edition hand-embellished giclee.  I invite you to become a collector and experience the joy of owning artwork that uplifts and inspires your soul!

Floral Palette Knife Painting by Jill Saur

My 48"x48" painting, "Joyful Encounter" is featured in this months magazine,"Art Galleries and Artist's of the South", by Matilda's Art Gallery in Historic Roswell, Ga. I also had an unexpected surprise when I saw it on television this weekend on HGTV's, "Green Home Giveaway". They were filming the galleries in Historic Roswell and artworks represented by those galleries.

This painting emerged out of my imagination, which is both exciting and challenging at the same time. It might be hard to see in the photo, but the entire painting was executed with a palette knife and it's loaded with texture.

This painting is for sale at Matilda's Art Gallery in Roswell, but you can contact me through my website and I'll put you in touch with them. Thanks for viewing!  www.JillSaurFineArt.com

Apple Painting by Jill Saur

"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance." - Aristotle

"Apple A'Day", is my new 8"x10"x.5" oil palette knife painting on canvas.  There is no doubt about it, this painting is cheerful, playful, and full of color.  It's available for purchase by contacting my through my website. www.JillSaurFineArt.com

This little painting was inspired by my love for the simple things in life.  Apples are crisp, full of flavor, and really don't need anything else to make them any more special than they already are! -  My website:

Aspens In Snow Art

"If you reveal your secrets to the wind, you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees."
- Khalil Gibran

My new 8"10".5" oil palette knife and brush painting, "Relinquished", is richly textured on the trees, revealing their "bone structure" against the value tones of winter. The title suggests that place in life where we relinquish ourselves and open up our hearts and minds to fresh inspiration and new possibilities.

I love aspens in winter. Their beautiful white trunks and dark branches mingle with the dark shadows cast upon the white snow, creating a profound beauty that is best experienced in silence.

Tree Art by Jill Saur

"A tree against the sky possesses the same interest, the same character, the same expression as the figure of a human." - Georges Rouault (French Painter) 1872-1958

Fresh off the easel, my 11"×14"x1" acrylic palette knife painting "Delightful Encounter",  has loads of texture. This painting was inspired by one of my "special trees" that I like to photograph down at the Chattahoochee River.

This painting is available to be purchased by contacting me through my website.
