Unseasonable Sunflowers and Lilies was my demonstration painting this morning for the Mid-Cities Fine Artists of Texas and is number 11 in the 30 in 30 Challenge sponsored by the amazing Leslie Saeta! Be sure to pay a visit to Leslie's blog, Slices of Life, to see her beautiful palette knife work!
We had such a great meeting today with the Mid-Cities artists, and voted on the artist of the year for the club. Talk about a room full of talent! This afternoon with 90 degree heat and blazing sunshine out my studio window, I heard the loudest rumble of thunder. A few minutes later, a torrential rain came pouring down! Little Hannah, our adopted pug, is terrified of storms, so I put the brushes aside and held her until the unseasonable weather passed. Even Hannah seemed happy, though, when we stepped outside later to the cool, wet air. It was like a little blessing, unexpected and so welcome, in the middle of the day.
