"Season's First Tulips" by Lynda Cookson

In my quest to make more space in my studio I have sent collections of paintings to Ross's Fine Art Auctioneers in Belfast. They work closely with Gallery 1608 in Northern Ireland ... and I work with Gallery 1608.

Today (5 November 2018) this painting, "Season's First Tulips" goes on auction. The auction ends at 7pm but if not sold, will be available for purchase from their showroom.

More paintings available there in the coming weeks .....

"Happy" by Karla Nolan, framed watercolor painting

"Happy" is a small framed in gold, matted in off-white, watercolor painting of just that, a very happy red poppy.  One of my favorite subjects to paint, I have seen a few red oriental poppies blooming around town.  It has been so rainy, so wet, so soggy here, I'm amazed that they've dared to open, sans sun!

Should you be interested in purchasing this 7"x5" (mat/framed size) work for $95, please call Meg at 970-484-7862 or visit EsScentuals when you are in town at 142 South College, in the heart of downtown Fort Collins, Colorado.  Tell her Karla sent you!

"Poppies and Hills" by Karla Nolan, framed painting on glass

Yes, here are more poppies, but these are painted directly onto the glass and the framing technique I use gives them dimensional aspects not usually seen in paintings on canvas.  These actually look three dimensional from some angles.  Always playing around with the glass paints and having a blast doing so!

"Poppies and Hills", 5"x7" painting on glass (measured edge to edge glass) in frame shown, $125 includes s/h in continental U.S., Paypal accepted, click my blogspot button below or write me for more information at KarlaNolan@gmail.com

"Ocean Waves" by Karla Nolan, framed painting on glass

The ocean never fails to fascinate me.  Being landlocked in Colorado, but happily so, I especially like looking at the waves breaking and the skies overhead.  It can be turmoil to paint, but, hey, why not give it a try, onto glass, no less!

"Ocean Waves", 5"x7" painting on glass (measured edge to edge glass) in frame shown, $125 includes s/h in continental U.S., Paypal accepted, click button located on my blogspot below or write me for more information at KarlaNolan@gmail.com

"Wild Red Flowers" by Karla Nolan, framed painting on glass

I haven't painted in almost three weeks now, due to a nasty fall down some wooden stairs.  I still have a very swollen jammed finger on my right hand and it's slowed me down mightily, even in typing.  So no blogs, either.  I've been getting restless, so thought this painting would fill in the gap for now.  Hope you enjoy the view!

"Multiple Irises" by Karla Nolan, framed painting on glass

While we're far from Spring, it's always on my mind.  The irises soar towards the sun in multiple colors and Mother Nature makes her own bouquets.  I suppose we can wait three months and several days for this bounty...but it's not easy!

"Multiple Irises", 20"x16" painting on glass (measured edge to edge glass) in frame shown, $960 includes s/h in continental U.S., Paypal accepted, click button my blogspot button below or write me for more information at KarlaNolan@gmail.com

"Red Skies" by Karla Nolan, framed painting on glass

I like red and I like drama in skies.  Hence the above painting (bottom photo is the close up).  Sunsets are my favorite genre to paint and you never see or paint the same one twice!  I usually have mountains involved in these art works, as I live right by them and sometimes it's almost as if there is a bounce back in the colors.  Paintings on glass are nerve wracking because it is so easy to get overly enthusiastic and mess it all up but I'm pleased with this outcome.  And it comes already framed (in a basic black frame), ready for the nail in your wall!

"Red Skies", 8"x10" (measured edge to edge glass) in frame shown, $240 includes s/h in continental U.S., Paypal accepted, click button on my blogspot listed below or write me for more information at KarlaNolan@gmail.com

"Chilis of New Mexico", framed painting on glass by Karla Nolan

No, this is definitely NOT a palette knife painting!  But...I like to dab into all sorts of media....enjoy!

Recently I've had renewed interest in my framed paintings on glass from a few Daily Painters website visitors, so I thought I'd acquaint you with my "Chilis of New Mexico" -- yes, hot and spicy, habenero, Anaheim, Poblano, jalapeno -- you name it, any of them could be in this painting!  Unfortunately, try as I may, the heat of the chilis wipes me out, it's an embarrassment to see!  Oh well, I still love the Mexican foods!

"Chilis of New Mexico", 9"x12" (measured edge to edge glass) in black frame, $325 includes s/h in continental U.S., Paypal accepted, click my blogspot button listed below or write me for more information at KarlaNolan@gmail.com

"Irish Fuchsia" by Karla Nolan, framed 12"x9" palette knife and brush oil painting

Did you know that the fuchsia is the national flower of Ireland?  'Tis!  We were there a long time ago with our daughters and I actually saw fuchsias growing wild along an old stone wall.  It was an amazing sight, the sort of thing you'd never expect to see!  This particular bunch comes all framed up and ready to hang on your wall.

"Irish Fuchsia", framed 12"x9" palette knife and oil painting on canvas panel, $300 includes s/h in continental U.S., click Paypal button below or write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

"Pink Poppy" by Karla Nolan, framed palette knife oil painting

This is a slightly older palette knife oil painting I have always been fond of but no longer have room for it on my (tiny) studio wall, so I priced it as a bit of a bargain.  It is already framed and would be a lovely addition to any room, it could fit right over that nightstand by the antique lamp you've been trying to make into a fitting vignette!

"Hello, Morning Glories!" by Karla Nolan, framed miniature palette knife/brush oil painting

We are in autumn now in northern Colorado, but it is still warm during the day.  I have even seen some morning glories in bloom, which is amazing for mid-October, wouldn't you say?  As much as I enjoy the blooms of the morning glories, I cannot grow them to save my life in our garden.  Obviously, there's something greater going on here, right?  I must be destined to merely paint them!  That's not so bad a deal now, is it?
