I'm loving trawling through all my images, both photographic and paintings, as I upload them to my various Etsy storefronts ... and, after feeling a little stale for a few months, my fingers are starting to itch again with the anticipation of painting fresh works.

"Daisies" is a medium size, palette knife, oil painting with all the depth and energy you would expect from this medium and technique. Her vibrance speaks for itself :-)

Not shown in the image below, is the monogram signature in the bottom right hand corner of the painting. Here you can see my logo watermark. The original painting has my monogram etched into the paint.

Charcoal Line Drawings on Monoprints by Lynda Cookson

I have been having fun sorting paintings from my stock. They've been packed away for a while and are only being brought out now for some Open Studio days during summer.

Here's a rather different collection of 4 Charcoal Line Drawings on Original Abstract Monoprints.

During a couple of life drawing classes a few years back I found two of the models to be rather grumpy in temperament which put me off formal drawings. Instead I produced comical line drawings to counter their grumpiness. Later I repeated the ones I liked onto original abstract monoprints.

"Sweeping Landscape" by Lynda Cookson

Ta da! A freely painted, abstract, palette knife, oil painting which made me feel happy to create ... at the end of a long day consider and repainting ... then considering and repainting ... then considering again and repainting again ... that large piece which is dominating my life at the moment.

I think I should dedicate this painting to my very supportive husband, Alan, who, whilst helping me move two large canvases, got white oil paint on a favourite jacket. And he's still talking to me!

Music and dance have always been important stimulants for me. In fact, my first own-business was a ballroom dance studio! I have never had a ballet lesson but had contact with ballet teachers, as well as Spanish dance teachers, which gave me a taste of the depth and love in their lives. To me, ballet shoes are things of real beauty ... from the perfection of their own creation, to the support, love and life they give to their dancers - all finally depicted in their wrinkles, stains and frays.
