"Be My Valentine" by Lynda Cookson

Another challenge painting (which, funnily enough, I did use a palette knife on when I was moving the paint in the middle of the two big red flowers!) ... watercolour on Yupo Paper.

I find it keeps me fresh to be fiddling with watercolour or a craft object during the palette knife painting of a more formal painting. Otherwise I tend to fiddle with the formal painting and usually ruin it in some way LOL

"Freesias in Lilac" by Lynda Cookson

"Freesias in Lilac" has very special meaning for me. Reaching a bit of a low at one stage, my husband came home from a shopping trip one day and presented me with a stunning bouquet of Freesias. His pick-me-up worked wonders and this painting seemed to just create itself on the canvas,

The Fillingdon Fine Art Gallery in Piddington, Buckinghamshire, UK is presently showing this painting at their Christmas exhibition. If you're in the area in the next two weeks please make sure to enjoy a visit .... there is some stunning art work there! If you're nearby at any other stage (when their thrice yearly exhibitions don't happen to be on) simply make an appointment for very special treatment as Debs Digby shows you around the gallery. You can find them here: http://Fillingdon.com

Bella Brianna by Lisa Elley. 100% Palette Knife Oil Painting

Bella Brianna by Lisa Elley. 14 X 18 Inches.
2012. 100% Palette Knife Oil Painting.
My favorite subject and treasured darling,
caught in a moment of reflection.
Limiting my color palette was a big change
 to my usual bright colors,
 but it was fun nonetheless!

Milford Sound by Lisa Elley

Milford Sound. 2012. 9 X 12. Oil on Canvas. 100% Palette Knife

Milford Sound was deemed the eight wonder of the world
by Rudyard Kipling, and is New Zealand's
 most popular tourist destination.
The sheer walls of the fiord rise 3900 ft
and it is one of the wettest places on earth,
hence the lush greenery and occasional tree avalanche
into the cold waters where dolphins, seals,
penguins and whales can be seen.

With a Drizzle of Rachael Ray by Lisa Elley

With a Drizzle of Rachael Ray. 2012. 11 X 14. Oil On Canvas

I will find any excuse to open a tube of cadmium red,
including but not limited to my Rachael Ray EVOO bottle, which I bought at Target.
The pitcher in complimentary color blue was an eye popping choice to pair with the orange cruet.

"Apple In Red" by Jill Saur

Bold, textured, and full of movement, are words that describe this powerful 8"x8"acrylic palette knife painting.  I was walking through my kitchen the other day and I grabbed a fuji apple on the way to my studio.  Instead of eating it,  I decided to come up with an exciting rendition of this tasty fruit. These colors portray the burst of flavor held within this aromatic apple and I am pleased with the outcome!

I invite you to become a collector and experience the joy of owning artwork that uplifts and inspires the soul!
