BUDDIES, 6X8, OIL SOLD

There is nothing like the company of your dog.  They are fun, and faithful and when you are a young girl, they can add so much to your life.  I was raised as an only child and some of my best childhood memories involve my pet dogs.  This girl was sitting on a rock high over the Nantahala River at  NOC, watching the kayaks run the rapids.

Original oil paintings by Karen Tarlton palette knife impressionism

I walked with Maggie down the street today and found a wonderful group of artists!
Planning on doing some plein air painting with them this weekend.
You can't beat the view in this studio :)

Original oil painting Beach Babes by Karen Tarlton - children palette knife art

8x8
Beach Babes
Oil

SOLD

I've been busy this week, but this painting sums up everything pretty well.
Moving to the beach and I feel like I've gone full circle with my life.
22 years ago we lived in San Diego and our first daughter was born there.
She's now graduating from college and we're moving back!
I'll be painting in the very same spot where it all started.
Isn't that something?

Original oil painting Summer Beach Children Ocean by Karen Tarlton

  Summer Beach Memories
16x20
Oil
A charming and special Summer beach memory in vivid, rich oils and my modern impressionistic style. I think it’s these special carefree moments in time that are the most precious, and the ones we look back on tearfully as our children grow up. This original oil painting is rich with color and texture. Thickly sculpted with expressive palette knife movements, I capture a young girl enjoying the wonders of the ocean.

Bella Brianna by Lisa Elley. 100% Palette Knife Oil Painting

Bella Brianna by Lisa Elley. 14 X 18 Inches.
2012. 100% Palette Knife Oil Painting.
My favorite subject and treasured darling,
caught in a moment of reflection.
Limiting my color palette was a big change
 to my usual bright colors,
 but it was fun nonetheless!

Large "In the Surf" by Heidi Lifrage

30 x 36 oil on canvas painting of children in the surf. After painting the small study I then was happy enough with it to paint the larger painting. I added some extras like waves and put warmer tones in the painting and I am very pleased. Please view my other work at www.heidilifrage.com Commissions are welcomed.
