"The Little Lake" by Northern California Artist Mark Bidstrup

I have painted at this little lake a couple of times and here it is as a Spring impression. I'm working up a larger version of this in the near future. I painted at this location a few years ago with Bryan Mark Taylor as part of a workshop. I keep revisiting this site.

6"x8" Oil on Linen panel. $195.00 shipped. This looks great in a black plein air frame.

Please contact me at m_bidstrup@yahoo.com if you are interested in this painting. (gallery inquiries are always welcome!)

Visit my Blog at: http://markbidstrup-paintings.blogspot.com/ or my new website http://markbidstrup.fineartstudioonline.com/ for more examples of my work.

Thank you!

Rhosneigr, Anglesey - Original Seascape by Sarah Morley

Just Finished! And a lovely memory of summer for many!
This is my painting of Rhosneigr on a lovely summer day -  this is one of the spectacular beaches  on the Island of Anglesey, North Wales, UK. It is quite big - 3ft x 3ft. Painted in oils using painting knives only. Price $700 plus shipping.

This painting is  drying at the moment but  it will be out on display next Friday 10th October, wet or dry! Friday 10th is the Preview of Vernon Mill Artist's Open Studios Weekend. If you are anywhere two hours drive or less from Stockport UK - do come - there's over 50 artists displaying their work over two floors on an old Cotton Mill, plus live music, wine, food - what more could you want? The Open Studios Event continues Saturday and Sunday, 10am til 4pm.

I am also doing a workshop - Paint a Sunset Alla Prima - this is a palette knife painting workshop - open to all on Sunday morning. Please ring me on 07946432818 or email sarlive02@aol.com for further details.

Little Wonder Stargazer Lily by Floral Artist Nancy Medina

 Little Wonder Stargazer
by Nancy Medina
10X8
Oil on Archival Panel

Little Wonder Stargazer is one of a new collection of small dailies in my gallery this month, and it's been a busy week in Flower Mound Studio. Today was the first day of the last workshop of the year here in North Texas, and I was honored to have a student travel from Kazakhstan to paint with me! Doris said this was her vacation this year, and she had planned the dates strategically. I think she was a bit surprised at how cold it was here last night, but today the sun came out to welcome her and the snow and ice began melting, finally, in earnest. It was interesting to hear how difficult (and at times impossible) it is to get art supplies shipped to you, if you live in Kazakhstan. Most items are simply turned away by customs altogether, so art supplies are very hard to come by. I'll never complain about a late order from Dick Blick again! Tomorrow we will paint red carnations and sunflowers, so stay tuned for more paintings to come!

The studio models take a bow!

Registration is now open for my Dallas Arboretum Workshop November 9. You are invited to join me in the most beautiful gardens in North Texas to paint your favorite flowers in brilliant color! My Arboretum workshops fill up fast, so don't delay, Megan and Joy are my hostesses and are absolutely wonderful. They've been known to pop in with a big bag of chocolate in the afternoon!

My Love Red Rose by Floral Artist Nancy Medina

My Love Red Rose is the daily newbie in Flower Mound Studio, and number 17 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge! These roses are blooming in my studio tonight, under a hot spotlight. They were holding up quite bravely until the artist, in her enthusiasm to bend the focal point rose to her whims, broke off the focal point rose with a disturbing snapping noise! Lesson learned, don't man-handle the roses!

Hearts Path Orange Tulips of the Dallas Arboretum by Texas Artist Nancy Medina

Hearts Path Orange Tulips
of the Dallas Arboretum
by Nancy Medina
16X12

Textured Palette Knife/
Oil on Archival Panel

Hearts Path Orange Tulips celebrates the countdown to the Dallas Blooms Festival - the best time of year to visit the gardens of the Dallas Arboretum, when the tulips are in full bloom. The cherry blossoms, azaleas, daffodils, pansies, and dozens of other flowers were just about to burst forth when I visited on Sunday. I wanted to create something loose, bright and very full of color to mark the end of winter. I can hardly wait to visit again in March, with my camera in hand, and my comfy walking shoes on! Join me, and let's have lunch at the tea room. We'll order one of those towers of desserts, while we're at it!
