Blasted my painting mojo back into place this morning with a bit of vigour.

I absolutely LOVE abstract work ... it's exciting, unpredictable (love that bit!), constantly holds your attention and tickles your imagination with just the biggest feather! Plus more, but I'm too excited to think of the correct words right now.

Perhaps enthusiasm is the right word ... abstract can make my enthusiasm simply burst!

So lovely to be back painting.

"Tropical Flowers" by Lynda Cookson

I've recently, because of down-sizing and moving into a much smaller home, destroyed a few of the larger paintings I had in stock. "Tropical Flowers" wasn't one of those! She's hung in my bedroom for a few years now and is going straight back into our new bedroom pretty tout suite!

Marsh Landscape, Palette Knife Painting, COLORS OF THE MARSH 8x8x1.5" oil

The sun is quickly sinking below the horizon and within minutes the colors of the marsh will disappear.

Purchase here
119 + shipping

My goal here was to suggest the beauty and colors of the marsh in late summer.  I wanted to use plenty of texture and thick paint to do so.

I really love the gallery wrap canvases from "The Edge".  I like the chunky shape of this small 8x8" with the 1.5" depth that gives this small painting more presence.

Thanks for reading my blog today :)

Old Friends by Kay Wyne

Old Friends - SOLD
Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

8" x 24" Palette Knife Painting
These feathered friends are yacking away, having a heart-to-heart conversation. I hope that this painting makes you smile...the roosters are full of personality having quite the session. The canvas might appear to be out of balance, but it was my intention to have have the roosters focused on each other and off-center. Pam at The Dutch Art Gallery sold this painting yesterday! I am thrilled that this painting has a new home. Thanks for viewing this blog. Stay cool and have a artful day!
