Irish Sea, Late Afternoon, by new York artist, Celeste Plowden

I took many pictures of the Irish Sea when we were in Ireland last fall.  We were able to see it from several different times of day, during a couple of tours we took.  Sometimes misty and monochromatic, other times, there was sunshine trying to break through, which cast a soft sheen on the water.  8x10 acrylic on canvas panel, SOLD. view more of my work at

Leaving the Islands, by New York artist, Celeste Plowden

8x10 acrylic on acid free canvas panel, UV varnished, FRAMED, in a mottled silver gilt wooden frame, available at
In my imagination, a 17th century galleon leaving islands of the Caribbean, on a calm, moonlit evening, bound for who knows where. Everything has been painted with my palette knife, except for a little detail on the ship.

Buckaneer Sloop leaving the Spanish Main, by New York artist, Celeste Plowden
