Back in Time. 2012. 8 X 10. Oil on Canvas. 100% Palette Knife.

Who doesn't love the rustic charm of Provence?

With all the history and possibilities, it was fun to

ponder the lives of the generations of people who
have walked through this door.

Against All Odds by Lisa Elley

Against All Odds. 2012. 8 X 10. Oil on Canvas. 100% Palette Knife Painting.

This lonesome tree stands in a bay on the shore of Lake Wanaka in New Zealand.

If you google "tree in lake wanaka" you will find many images of this intrepid survivor!

Submerged at certain times of the year, somehow it battles on, providing us with a splendid example of the fortitude of nature! I thought it deserved to be painted.
