Yaquina Head Lighthouse is located on the Pacific Coast of Oregon. Because of its situation on a rock outcropping, this very picturesque lighthhouse draws many visitors including lots of photographers and artists. Built in 1873 the building is in remarkably good condition for its age with very little repair work over the years. Under the care of the Yaquina Bay Coast Guard, the light is not open to the public without special arrangements. But the grounds are open and the views are impressive. This is an oil painting on canvas, 24x18, done mainly with palette knife but parts done with brushes. It is available directly from the artist...pwhitacre@att.net....865-932-6729.
