"Lilac" Original Oil Painting by Hallie Kohn Art
I could paint flowers every day right now--and who could blame me really?! My kids wanted me to paint an eagle... I went with lilacs instead. :)
"Heavenly Bluebells" Original Oil Painting by Hallie Kohn Art
I'd like to start out this post by thanking all of you for looking and for following my blog. This is such an incredible journey for me, and each painting is a new lesson in learning. I can't imagine doing anything I love more. Thank you :)
Bluebells are another one of my absolute favorite flowers. They will always remind me of our family friend Lisa--got my bluebells from her son's yard. There is no grass there, only bluebells. Heaven.

Spring, I
love this time of year. After the tulips die down, the irises are the
next to appear. As well as the dark blue border irises, these pale
purple irises are amongst the first of the irises to appear. They are tall, and
although not as showy as the bearded irises, they give a beautiful
purple haze under the citrus trees.About this painting
I painted this in a loose impasto style, dancing around the canvas with my palette knife, aiming more for the purple glow than true representation of the irises.

Up for Auction by Pamela Blaies
Click the photo to check out the auctions for these two Petite Paintings full of light and color. The Coneflowers were cut from a new flower garden I planted just this summer. These would look great hanging together as a pair.

A Little Birdie Told Me by Pamela Blaies
6" x 6"
oil on linen
Here is painting #4 of the 100 daily paintings I will be completing for the Petite Painting Project. I found this ceramic bird at an antique mall and was drawn to its sweet face. I love the combination of green and purple, so since I still have some redbud blooms, I snipped a few more sprigs to add to this composition. Happy Spring!

Spring Blooms by Pamela Blaies
7" x 5"
oil on linen
My little redbud trees are in their 3rd year and getting bigger. Each spring I look forward to the bright flowers making their splashy display. If only the blooms lasted longer. Here is my Petite Painting Project piece #3. I snipped a little sprig and paired it with this little green bud vase. I love the stunning color combination.
