LILY, 6X8, OIL, SOLD

I don't paint a lot of flowers so I thought I would give one a try.  This is from a photo I took a couple of years ago in North Carolina.  I found this beautiful plant full of blooms in a neighbor's yard.  The plant had a least 10 blooms on it and stood waist high.

BUDDIES, 6X8, OIL SOLD

There is nothing like the company of your dog.  They are fun, and faithful and when you are a young girl, they can add so much to your life.  I was raised as an only child and some of my best childhood memories involve my pet dogs.  This girl was sitting on a rock high over the Nantahala River at  NOC, watching the kayaks run the rapids.

BRANDY, 6X8, OIL, SOLD

Brandy is a sweetheart of a dog.  She lives with a friend of mine.  Carla and Brandy spend time visiting nursing homes and bringing a little joy into the lives of the residents they meet.  I know how important this is because my mother lived in a nursing home.  She always tells me when someone brings a dog in.  She is a dog lover from way back and it is amazing how a minute or two with a dog will brighten her day.  Thanks, Carla!

OCEAN SUNRISE, 6X8, OIL

Some days it is really hard to find something to paint.  It is always fast or famine with me and today was a famine day.  I decided to do a little seascape as I have not painted one for months.  In fact, I painted two of them today, so tomorrow I will post the second piece.

"Crackling Sky" by Karla Nolan

I can almost smell it in the air, springtime is around the corner, although you may not believe it today in my part of the woods -- it's gray and cloudy but warmer than it has been -- I'm just waiting for the sky to open up with rain, get a few bolts of lightning up there, roar of thunder.  Of course, I am jumping the gun, the official date is three weeks away for the season change and here in Colorado, the real date may as well be May.  I am such a dreamer!  (The top photo is the original painting, the bottom is an example of it framed.)

"Crackling Sky", unframed 4"x4" miniature palette knife oil painting on gesso board, $48 includes s/h in continental U.S., click Paypal button below or write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

Thanks for viewing my art!  Greetings from Fort Collins, Colorado

TOM BROWN VIDEO & PLEIN AIR KNIFE PAINTING

"BENEATH A BIG SKY"
5x7 INCH PLEIN AIR
PALETTE KNIFE PAINTING
BY TOM BROWN

I painted this breath-taking scene using a palette knife and my custom pochade paint box that everyone is talking about. (To see a video about my pochade box Google TOM BROWN ART NOTES.)

Using that equipment I was able to set up and begin painting within moments, to capture the essence of the scene before it changed.

If you would like this little jewel for your wall, email tombrownstudio@cox.net for details.

Thanks for looking. - Tom Brown
