Blue Shadows White Hydrangeas was one of seven class demonstrations completed during my three day workshop that ended Sunday in North Texas. We did an intensive study of white flowers, starting with white irises and ending with white hydrangeas, on the first two days. I love painting white flowers, there are so many colors you can put into white petals, into the shadows and the highlights both. The white irises for our class paintings were cut directly from my iris garden, which was in full bloom this morning. I've posted photos of my iris garden on the art blog today, including one starring my little garden helper, Howard Pee Pugpants himself!
