A little about me...I'm 35 years of age, At 16 I found out I had Cancer (nasal pharyngeal carcinoma). I was successfully treated at the University of Chicago hospitals. A few years later at age 24 I suffered a Brain Stem Hemorrhagic Stroke. Which ultimately left my right side(both leg and arm), the left side of my face and my voice paralyzed as well as nystagmus ( involuntary rhythmic shaking of the eyes). The nystagmus is the real culprit affecting my art more so then use of my left arm.  |

Jill has been selling her artwork to collector's in the United States and abroad for twenty-nine years. Her artwork is sold nationally in catalogues, retail chains, and Fine Art galleries.
City Blocks
is an award winning artist who paints exclusively with a palette knife. She holds a fine art degree and has worked as a professional graphic designer for many years. She began painting in oil again after taking a palette knife workshop through the Copley Society of Art in Boston and was immediately hooked. The thick, painterly, yet highly detailed strokes of color are trademarks of her style.
I can't remember a time that I didn't have an artistic pursuit but I found my true love with painting. Although I enjoy exploring with different techniques and materials, I primarily work in oils with an abstract style. Thick paint placed with a palette knife and strong geometric shapes are often found in my paintings.
After earning a degree in Business Admin/Marketing, I went on to several "Big Girl" corporate jobs and then owned and ran a design business in Hawaii, importing antiques from the mainland. My education was rounded out through the UC Berkeley Extension Art Program and the College of Marin Art and Design Program. I am fortunate to have had wonderful instructors as well as the insightful critiques of my fun, fellow painters.

Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, I have always had a passion for art. From drawing what must have amounted to thousands of pictures of horses and dogs as a child to studying art in college, it has always been as natural as breathing to me. For the last ten years while my children were small, I ran a successful business painting murals and decorative pieces. Here and there, I would snatch a few moments to paint for myself. Now that my children are older, I have decided to return to my love of painting full time and have studied with artists Andy Braitman, Dreama Tolle Perry and Leslie Saeta. I currently live in Charlotte, North Carolina with my family and a wonderful menagerie of pets.
