Another fun and happy cow painting! Loved working on this girl. I recently joined the Focal Point Gallery in Chapel Hill and promised them a few fun and bright paintings. This one looks sharp in a 3" Gold frame and will look fabulous hanging on display.

COW GONE WRONG AND PUGLSEY UPDATE
COW gone wrong...or should I say Bull gone wrong...I am stressed and it shows...I started this bull with brushes - then after getting a "bit" unhappy with it's progress, I scraped most of it of and started slapping paint on it with the same palette knife used for scraping...Somehow I scraped of his horns and never put them back - thus we have a COW!
I still really love the original photo and will need to try my hand at a more realistic painting of the gentleman.
Pugsley is still very much under the weather. I did get home early enough today to take him into the backyard to enjoy some sun and fresh air. He really seemed to enjoy watching all the crazy hummingbirds that are visiting our feeders. Tomorrow he will visit the vet for an acupuncture session - If I remember I will bring a camera to take some shots of the porcupine-pugsley!

Two shaded - Original Palette Knife painting by Nithya Swaminathan
This painting was one of the quickest of irises, I chose not to even tweak it a bit with a brush or anything. Just with some knife work, I was kinda happy with the abstract effect it had and decided to stop it. Do let me know what you think. :)

This is the third of my Tuscan inspired palette knife series. The collaged canvases were originally intended for something else and had been sitting in the corner of my studio for a few months. Since I've been experimenting with palette knife painting lately, I decided to paint directly on the prepared canvases and allow the collaged materials show through the heavy impasto.
