Joyful Day by Kay Wyne

Joyful Day
60" x 36" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Floral Landscape
Large, colorful and dreamy describe this floral landscape painting.  I can visualize this canvas hanging above a fireplace on a wall with a vaulted ceiling...and it is ready to hang, since the sides of the canvas are painted.  Framing is optional.  I can look at this painting and my eye wanders back through the field, zig-zagging far into the horizon.  Contact Kay for purchasing info.  Thanks for looking at the art posted here.  Kay

Windy December by Kay Wyne

Windy December
8" x 10" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
Plein Air Landscape Painting in a handsome dark frame
$290
A windy day at White Rock Lake in Dallas proved to be challenging.  One of the most important things to do when painting in plein air is to be organized so that you can set up quickly, focus on painting, and come away with a completed study.  I usually don't have enough time to finish a painting, but once I pulled out my palette knife it all came together.  I captured the colors of the day...actually, I might use this painting to work on a larger canvas.  This painting is for sale.  Contact Kay for purchasing info.  Thanks for looking at this blog.  Kay

Pathway To Joy - Sold - By Kay Wyne

Pathway To Joy
Sold
12" x 12" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Floral Landscape Painting
This painting was a commission for a collector in Dallas, and it was a Christmas gift to his wife.  It was fun working with this collector, as he had a certain color palette, and look that he wanted me to achieve on canvas, using both the brush and palette knife.  This is day one of the Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.  Here we go again!  Be sure to check out all of the art posted on Leslie's blog.  Happy New Year!  Kay

Ecstatic Day by Kay Wyne

Ecstatic Day
12" x 24" Oil on Canvas
Canvas needs frame.
Contemporary Floral Landscape Painting
Day #9 of the 30 Paintings/30 Days Challenge
I started this landscape months ago, got frustrated, and then finished it this week.  I started with a photograph from one of our summers in Michigan, and took my artistic license and winged it.    I wanted soothing clouds and sky, evergreens and spruce trees in the background, and patches of floral color.  It is now drying in the studio, and I have a neat frame to put on it.  Contact Kay for more information on this painting.  Thanks for looking....today is day 9 of the 30 Day challenge....be sure to check it out!  Lots of artists painting and posting on a daily basis.  KMW

Impulsive by Kay Wyne

Impulslive
18" x 18" Oil on Heavy Duty Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Floral Landscape Painting

This painting was a total re-do for me.  I had an abstract
on the canvas, was totally not liking it.  So I switched
gears and decided it would be a floral landscape...rather
abstract, with thick, thick paint.  I put it on the studio wall
immediately because I did not want to bump into the wet
paint.  I was very impulsive on this painting, and pulled
out some tools---no brushes.  I used a couple of palette
knives, some wipe-off instruments that are great for
scraping and drawing through the paint.  Thanks for
looking at this blog.  Contact Kay for purchasing info.

Wildflower Summer by Kay Wyne

Wildflower Summer
8" x 8" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Wildflower Landscape Series
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
This painting is so wet with juicy oils...I started with
my flat brush, but could not wait to get the palette knives
out to move the paint around.  I am happy with the colors,
the composition and look of this little painting.  I borrowed
some beautiful colors that she had mixed on her palette,
and they were going to dry up if I didn't dive into them.

Contact Pam Massar at Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas for purchasing information.  This painting was inspired by a day trip that John and I took in Maine.  This old dinghy was tied up on the rocky shore in a small fishing village.  I think it was just waiting for me to take a photo of it.  Thanks for looking at this painting....Kay

Colors Of My World by Kay Wyne

Colors Of My World
8" x 16" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting

This small landscape painting is colorful and has a dreamy look to it.  I think that the viewer can put his or her imagination to work when looking at this one.  The color palette is beautiful...with so many colors and the cad reds and oranges bounce off the greens and turqoise.  This painting does not require a frame since it is on a gallery wrap canvas.  Contact Kay for more information on this colorful little painting...thanks for looking.  Kay

Lavender Fields by Kay Wyne

Lavender Fields
14" x 14" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Landscape Painting
I was exploring the greens and lavenders in wildflower landscapes, and stopped when I got to a point where the painting is abstract, very little detail.  No fussiness and no blending of colors.  This is part of a series of fourteen canvases, all 14" x 14".  Contact Kay for more information on this painting.  Thanks so much, Kay
