"Gerbera Daisies" Original Oil Painting by Hallie Kohn Art

Here is a fine example of what my work looks like if I go at it with zero plan. I had some photos of these flowers, but was just thinking about a combination of what I had. The Gerbera Daisy is not a flower that I am super familiar with. I just went at it and this is what I ended up with. :)

Things that I like are the colors, the composition, the looseness, the spontaneity... I loved using the brush and just mixing as I went, but I have to say brush on smooth panels is a challenge for me. I thought about adding some knife marks to this one, and still may.

Still LOVE painting on black and seeing the bright colors pop. This was really just me having some fun. Sometimes I need a break from trying to be a serious artist!
