Amber Glow, Autumn Trees WIP - oil painting by Marion Hedger
Following on from yesterday, here is the progress and some process pics along the way.
I still have to do some finishing touches to this painting - the lower part of the tree trunk doesn't look right and I think it needs more depth under the trees in the background. I also need to push the middle autumn foliage back. If anyone can see anything else that needs a change, please leave a comment.

Started with a brush and finished with a palette knife

Last
autumn we took a trip to the vineyards in the Var. Beautiful scenery,
with the autumn colours of the vines set off by the background of the
mountains.This Painting is now SOLD
I took several photos, of course and I have painted some small landscapes and have several ideas for some more.
This is painted on canvas panel which I treated with thick gesso giving it a thick textured surface. I then painted a ground of pink and let this show through to add life and sparkle. Using a palette knife gives it a heavy impasto look.
Tomorrow I will post another of the vineyard paintings.
