I am an artist who loves to paint people, still life and flowers. My paintings are done with the palette knife and are textured with vibrant colors.
A Univ of MO grad with a BA in graphic design/photography teaching her to discover true light and its attributes to landscapes-seen in her photos and carried over to her painted canvas. Pratt started her own business in '03 where she is able to spend time with her children.“My boys inspire me to recreate the art I enjoyed as a child,creating new perspectives using color and painting techniques.She has found inspiration from other abstract artists,S. Spillar(MO),A.Tuso(AZ),E.Chapman(MO.Her interest in these artists lead her to become involved with a nationally recognized group known as the “Daily Abstract Painters.” She is in her second year with DPAG whose works are featured in “American Art Collector” magazine.Pratt has been twice featured in the magazine’s “Sold” section. She has also been in South West Art Magazine and is a Contemporary Fine Art Intl juried “Signature”artist.Her paintings invoke senses of emotion and feeling.“A majority of my pieces have deep personal meaning.It takes a few of life’s rough patches to create my best work. My palette is reflective of those times,and it is important to relive those moments in a reflective manner.”
