'Wild And Free' was painted after a wonderful day strolling in a little secret vale along the magical Lough Melvin in Co.Leitrim.I was seeping it all in and thinking, isn't this what life is all about!
We all have such busy lives, sometimes we just need to slow down and take time out to put things into perspective.

This original painting is a part of my ongoing series of Irises, all done only with the palette knife. I love irises, and find that the knife is a fantastic tool to bring out the structure of the flower in detail. I like the effect of the veins that are created by the knife. Pratt started her own business in '03 where she is able to spend time with her children.“My boys inspire me to recreate the art I enjoyed as a child,creating new perspectives using color and painting techniques.She has found inspiration from other abstract artists,S. Spillar(MO),A.Tuso(AZ),E.Chapman(MO.Her interest in these artists lead her to become involved with a nationally recognized group known as the “Daily Abstract Painters.” She is in her second year with DPAG whose works are featured in “American Art Collector” magazine.Pratt has been twice featured in the magazine’s “Sold” section. She has also been in South West Art Magazine and is a Contemporary Fine Art Intl juried “Signature”artist.Her paintings invoke senses of emotion and feeling.“A majority of my pieces have deep personal meaning.It takes a few of life’s rough patches to create my best work. Hi Everyone
I'm delighted to be part of this new blog.
I'm really enjoying viewing all the amazing work by the various palette knife painters.
At the moment I'm spending a few days painting my studio rather than painting in my studio.
The weather is glorious here, which is unusual for the west of Ireland, so I'm taking full advantage.
I have decided to include a summer scene from one of my childhood haunts.
