The Irish Sea looked dark on this late afternoon as we drove by. I caught the last phase of sundown, as it was setting over the water, and ships in the distance. This seascape was painted entirely in various shades of Prussian blue, except for the faint wash of pink and lavender over the harbor. Acrylic on archival and acid free canvas board, UV varnish, ready to pop into a standard size 11x14 frame. painted with a palette knife for texture. 11x14, available at my Chairish store.

Irish Sea, Late Afternoon, by new York artist, Celeste Plowden
I took many pictures of the Irish Sea when we were in Ireland last fall. We were able to see it from several different times of day, during a couple of tours we took. Sometimes misty and monochromatic, other times, there was sunshine trying to break through, which cast a soft sheen on the water. 8x10 acrylic on canvas panel, SOLD. view more of my work at
