"Burst of Magenta" (Garden Party Series) is painting #4i n the 2017
30 paintings in 30 days challenge I am doing with fellow artist Leslie Saeta.

So here is my theme for the challenge this year......This past year I redecorated my dining room, and collected artwork in various styles by my favorite artists from around the world, but all in a similar color palette and the result was lovely.

Actually, it all began with a beautiful painting of a woman in a cafe that I purchased in Cortona, Italy, which became the focal point of the room.

I also collected two still life pieces, an impressionist landscape, a floral piece, and an abstract expressionism piece, all in a similar palette.

That is my inspiration for this challenge. Each week, I will choose a palette and complete 7 paintings of multiple styles within that palette.

I will try to create pieces that would exhibit beautifully together , but can also stand alone.
We shall see what shows up!!

A Thought for today.....
Every second brings a fresh beginning,
Every hour holds a new promise,
Every night our dreams can bring hope and,
Every day is what you choose to make it.

Celebrate Today Hydrangea Garden by Floral Artist Nancy Medina

Celebrate Today Hydrangea Garden is the newest painting in Flower Mound Studio, with a message hidden under the painting (see my blog for the image). I finished this one late while the pugs snored all around the easel. The house is filled with fresh flowers following my workshop last weekend, one of the most excellent perks of my new job as a full-time artist. I have so many things to paint it is hard to decide where to start. I woke up this morning excited to get to work. I cannot remember feeling that way, ever before, for any job I have ever had before now. I'm very thankful, and it sure feels like it's worthy of celebration, tomorrow morning maybe I'll buy donuts!

The studio models take a bow!
