Day 3's painting sees a change of colour. This evokes the Etosha pan and the heat of the day. Are those reflections or just the heat shimmer of another beautiful day?

This painting evokes Etosha Pan, a dried up salt lake which floods in the rainy season Looking into the distance it is impossible to tell where the pan ends and the sky starts.. Painted on a smooth blended background with touches of impasto. The cool pastel colours invoke the early morning light.

This painting evokes the various colours of the landscape, where the horizon and sky merge. Even in the evenings the air is hot. The background is blended paint that has been enhanced with impasto palette knife work suggesting the shimmering colours seen on a hot day.

This painting evokes the superb sunrises in Kunene, north west Namibia. Early morning was the best time of the day. Vast landscape, perfect quiet and beautiful sunrises. Who could ask for more.
