It occasionally snows in Dallas. Even with a big snowfall, it soon melts. However, it is beautiful while it lasts. I love the deep blues and purples in this scene, contrasting with the bright whites and blues of the snow. This is a path that I would follow into the woods. How about you?

It was my turn to gallery set at Shanley House during the Lake Granbury Art Association Spring Festival of Art show. I brought the roses from my garden, set up this still life and got to work. I used the brush and thinned down paint to wash the background  in. I drew the roses in with a brush and added thick paint with a palette knife developing the roses. It was created all in one setting. This is available for purchase. $250.00

I created this on location in Glen Rose. It was a little early for the wildflowers and the blue bonnets were a rare sighting. We were thrilled when we found this field of the bluebonnets. We enjoyed beautiful spring weather and bright sunshine. Two qualities of plein air painting that I look forward to all winter. This is available for purchase. $100.00
