October Garden Sunflowers and Daisies

October Garden Sunflowers and Daisies is the newest painting in Flower Mound Studio, as I begin work on a large commissioned painting of a Dallas Arboretum cherry blossom path. This is the perfect time of year to be painting outdoor scenes, as the North Texas weather has taken a turn today toward fall, with cool breezes and a light sprinkling of rain. Fall is my favorite time of year, and the season I missed most when I lived in Southern California, where temperatures averaged 85 degrees F about 320 days a year. I used to lose track of time there, with the years seeming to whiz past, because there were no seasonal changes to mark the days passing. Now that I'm back in Texas, I miss the California sunshine! Ah the irony of it all...
The studio models take a bow!
