Caribbean Holiday by Bob Read
I spent the better half of the winter on this and know many of the primary subjects...this is a typical scene (though compressed) in The Harbor, the main shopping area on the island of Bequia, just west of Barbados and south of St Vincent in the Grenadines. Much of my work these days involves seascapes, since I spend about six months on Bequia. If you'd like to see my other work, including portraits, or inquire about a commission, please visit my website at http://www.bobreadartist.com/.
When I'm not painting, I enjoy blogging about my life's experiences on my website www.bobreadartist.com. In my former lives I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in India where I taught math and physics, then went into journalism and TV news where I was an anchorman/reporter/news director, then into real estate for many years. Now retired and serious about my painting and writing.
