Summer and sunflowers go hand in hand. I've been working on a series of paintings with sunflowers this week. If my sunflowers last, I will continue the series into next week. Sunflowers are so happy and warm. They really shine with these other flowers from my garden, some bosc pears and a copper pitcher.

Painting sunflowers always makes me smile. I was happy to find these the other day in the floral shop. Their sunny yellow petals partner perfectly with this blue bottle. I loved the way the blue reflected onto the napkin. The warm earth tones of the background worked to give this piece a sense of depth and space.
