Honored to be Interviewed by Pamela Blaies

Red Delicious
6" x 6"
oil on linen

I was honored to be interviewed by a fellow artist, who features a different artist every month on her blog. It is a very engaging blog with lots of art. You can check out the interview HERE.

Red Delicious was another foray into Pthalo Blue. It makes intense blues/aquas, perfect for this blue glass jar. What really inspired me in this composition was the napkin. I loved the light play of the folds and the cast shadow of the blue glass.

Mother's Day Surprises by Pamela Blaies

Brass Bucket of Apples

Mother's Day is just around the corner. I delivered "Brass Bucket of Apples" this afternoon to one of my collectors who is planning a little surprise for his wife. His daughter helped him choose the perfect Petite Painting for her on Mother's Day.

Fresh as a Daisy by Pamela Blaies

18" x 24"
Oil on Canvas

Spring cleaning has been in full gear for me these past two weeks. I've had many projects going on, and after only a few more, everything will be "fresh as a daisy" around here. Speaking of daisies - they sure brighten up a room and they last and last. Their layered petals are especially fun to paint. I love to give them lots of texture. These bright orange daisies seem to be smiling in their setting. Surrounded by blues and greens, they radiate warmth and energy.

Mother's Day Flowers by Pamela Blaies

24" x 18"
Oil on Canvas

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. I talked to my mom and was pampered by my sweet family. I arranged this bunch of Gerbera daisies on Mother's Day. I just love the gorgeous color. Of course, I can't just sit the flowers on the counter to enjoy - I must paint them first! An old-fashioned Ball jar is the perfect complement and the napkin shows off the subtle blue color of the glass.

Can't Wait for Christmas! by Pamela Blaies

12" x 16"

It's already December 22nd!  Time is flying by and I still have some preparing and framing to do for a few paintings that sold as last minute Christmas sales and deliveries for January exhibitions.

However, I am still finding a little time for painting.  The composition and colors look good in this study - I just love copper.  I might change a few things in the final painting and may even make more than one painting from this still life, with different cropping.

I set up a station in my studio for my daughter to paint with me and that was fun.  Looking forward to spending Christmas with my family!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
