I painted these Texas Indian Paintbrush and with extremely thick oil paint and palette knives to achieve depth and texture. The resulting image comes to life and is loaded with color and energy. In this wildflower series, I've framed the paintings in 5" gold plein air frames and they look great hung alone or in a grouping!

I painted this Indian Paintbrush canvas with extremely thick paint and palette knife. The resulting image is loaded with texture, color and energy! I've painted it on 1 and 1/2 inch deep stretcher bars, with the image continuing around the edges so that it can be hung as is frameless for a contemporary look. 

This Texas wildflower image looks great hung alone to brighten up a little spot, or in a grouping with a bluebonnet painting or some of my sunflower scenes. It looks like many have enjoyed this well-worn path through the wildflowers. Bluebonnets and indian paintbrush carpet the ground, making a beautiful border along the trail. The fence in the background made painting this piece even more fun. I love to paint fences alongside flowers because of the way the wood gives structure and balance to the softness of the flowers.
