By the Water #1 - original acrylic painting by Janice Tingum

by Janice Tingum
acrylic on paper
4.75 x 6.75 inches

Enjoy a cool breeze and relax. Breathe in the day. Ahhh.....

This original acrylic painting is inspired by the California coast. I used a mix of brush and palette knife work to create this colorful, impressionistic piece. It is painted on heavy-weight watercolor paper. It can be matted and framed or displayed as it is on a tabletop easel.

By the Water #1 is available for purchase in my shop at Etsy.

In addition to painting, I enjoy encouraging others in their creative pursuits and have written three ebooks with this aim:

"Rocky Cliffs" Oil Palette Knife Painting by Hallie Kohn Art

Love the contrasts in this painting of smooth and gentle with dark and rocky. The colors, and the water, speak to me and I just find it so fresh. I thought it would be interesting to paint it on this horizontal format to try and achieve more of a vastness in the scale.

"Sweaty Palms" by Leslie Saeta

Palette Knife Painting by Leslie Saeta
This painting is 6" x 6" on canvas board and is priced at $200.00 with a display easel. I had fun in Newport Beach this weekend ... actually took 480 pictures of boats while cruising around the bay. So lots of boats to use for future paintings!

"Shoreline Sunset", by Karla Nolan, palette knife, oil painting, linen panel

It's snowing here in Colorado.  Again.  Just when we had a strong whiff of spring, here comes the white stuff falling from the sky.  Go figure.  I am so over winter and yet it's been a relatively mild one here so I know that I have no business complaining.

It seems to be more fruitful to remember the hot summer nights with the beautiful sunsets along the shoreline....yes, past tense for now, but hopefully more shoreline sunsets await me.

"Shoreline Sunset", palette knife/brush oil painting on 8"x10" linen panel, $100 includes s/h in U.S., contact me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com and I'll mail you a Paypal invoice -- s/h in other locations to be determined at time of sale, of course.

I have set up a second website, Paintings On Glass, to showcase my paintings on glass.  There is a piece in progress as I type with sailboats.  That's a true challenge, showing proper structure and making the water look good.  Be sure to check it out, along with my new blogspot, listed below.

Shoreline New England Summer Afternoon by Roxanne Steed

8"x10" oil on Belgian linen mounted on museum quality board

"Your purpose in life isn't to arrive at a destination where you find inspiration, just as the purpose of dancing isn't to end up at a particular spot on the dance floor. The purpose of dancing - and of life - is to enjoy every moment and every step, regardless of where you are when the music ends."
- Dr. Wayne Dyer

Today's painting "Harkness Summer Afternoon", and is a 8"x10" oil on oil-primed linen mounted on museum quality board. Sunday afternoon was one of those perfect summer days that make you wish it would last forever!
They were setting up for a wedding behind me, a kite club festival was being held on the grounds along with all the picnickers, walkers, etc, touring through the garden on this weekend afternoon. What a happy buzz in the air, a true celebration of life!

This painting is already sold - it was commissioned as a wedding gift for her dear friends. I am always moved and so grateful to be a part of special commemorations in people's lives.
