Poppies is an impressionistic floral in bright reds and oranges with a yellow vase in acrylic on watercolor paper and mounted on canvas. This is an older piece from my collection and I have decided to release it. I learned this technique in a Robert Burridge workshop and he gives detailed instructions in his Artsy Fartsy newsletter here http://robertburridge.com/newsletter/article_archive/assignments_how_tos/assignments_how_tos1.html. In the instructions he uses 300 lb paper and this was 140 lb. I used in Poppies.

Palette Knife Painters
I was using the palette knife a lot in the January 2013 paint 30 paintings in 30 day challenge and joined the organization Palette Knife Painters and post on their blog. I have discovered classes on YouTube using the palette knife with acrylic paint with lessons by Will Kemp and there are other lessons and mediums available. A great resource.
