 Oasis Blue Hydrangeas
by Nancy Medina

Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

My new hydrangea DVD

Oasis Blue Hydrangeas is the daily newbie in Flower Mound Studio. It was a hot one in North Texas today, so the pugs and I spent quite a bit of time indoors out of the blazing sun. I started the day with my first big delivery to the post office this morning, shipping my Blue Lace Hydrangeas DVD to Australia, Alabama, Wisconsin, Oregon, Illinois, Georgia, Washington, West Virginia, Texas, Kentucky, California, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Ohio, and several other states throughout the US. It's like blue ripples in the pond, all the way across the US and the world - how cool it is, to be an artist....

Original oil painting Summer Rain Dance by Karen Tarlton

Lots of storms on the way in life.
I've come to believe that how one views the storm can make all the difference.
Does it cause fear or are you ready to take it on?
Dance in it!
That's really the only way to deal.
Dance, and dance and get wet but feel good about it!

Tropical Landscape Art | Small Oil Painting | Daily Painting | Boat Painting | Retirement Dream by Carol Schiff | 6x8" Oil

We all have dreams....right?  Well, this is not my dream, but a client's.  It's a really nice dream, but I am already retired and no boat in sight!

Purchase here

My client dreamed about living in the tropics, on the water, a nice toy nearby and a pretty tropical garden.   If you have ever been in Florida, you will see these Poinciana trees everywhere in the central and southern portion of the state.  Of course, you have to be here at the right time of the year to see the beautiful blooms.

I hope all your dreams come true!

"As the Sun Slips Behind the Loire River" by Karla Nolan

A number of years ago my husband and I traveled through the Loire Valley to visit Amboise.  We settled in to our tiny room, rested from the ordeals of the car travel, and prepared to dine.  As we were walking towards our restaurant, the sun was just beginning to slip behind the river.  With patience and persistence, we saw the magnificent results of another day, reflections above and below the water line.

"As the Sun Slips Behind the Loire River", 18"x24" unframed palette knife oil painting on canvas panel, $865 includes s/h in continental U.S., click Paypal button on my blogspot below or write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

Thanks for viewing my art!  Greetings from Fort Collins, Colorado

Florida Sunrise Painted Ponies by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Contemporary Horse Paintings

Florida Sunrise by Laurie Pace

 Size: 15 x 30  Oil on Canvas.

My cousin was here from Florida with her lovely granddaughter. We spent time all over Dallas and also time with the guitar, harp and in the studio painting horses. From our trips to the beach in Florida, the blues of the water and the brilliant blue skies and bright yellow sun plays through my memory bank providing colors for this Painted Pony Pull.

It is unusual because it is the count of 8 ponies and I usually paint odd numbers.  Just seem to fit better as I worked across finding horses in the paint.

His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden.  Habakkuk 3:4

My new hydrangea DVD

New Day Blue Hydrangeas is a new take on a favorite subject, celebrating the arrival of my hydrangea DVDs this week. While most of my hydrangeas are in green hibernation for the summer, and their blossoms are faded to a neutral gray green, one plant produced a new, tiny blue flower cluster yesterday. It seems a very optimistic prospect for a mild summer and considering how hard it was to coax that plant to give me blue instead of pink blossoms, I've decided it is a sign of good things to come!

Horse 56 Ode to Joy by Laurie Pace

 Size:8 x 10  Oil on Canvas.

This painting is thick.  It is really thick. I have some additional close up images on the main website if you want to see them. I loved the way the colors blended throughout the background and in the center of the horse. His head is tilted up to feel the sun on his face in the early morning cool breeze. The grass is wet and covered in dew and the day has just begun.

Do you stretch in bed and feel this way sometimes? Eager to get up and start your day?  That is one wonderful thing about life, we are not 'stuck' to a time clock, but we still stay responsible to what needs to be accomplished in our lives. What brings your joy to the surface? Mine is the early morning sunrise.

He is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings grass from the earth. 2 Samuel 23:4

Farm Painting | Daily Painting | Small Oil Painting | Barn Landscape | Carolina Mountain Farm by Carol Schiff | 6x12x.75"

This is a scene I see every day when I am in Carolina.  I pass this beautiful meadow and barn on my morning walk and it never fails to impress me with it's beauty

Purchase here

No matter the season, I enjoy this sight.  I guess it is just my own little piece of heaven.  I have painted the barn many times, from different angles.  I have hundreds of images of the property.

It evokes memories of the simpler days of my youth and the rural area of Northwestern Ohio where I lived.  No open meadows there, but country roads with fields of tall corn growing right up to the edge of the road.

Thank you for reading my blog today.

Shining Through Sunflowers and Lilacs
by Nancy Medina

Class Demonstration
20X20
Oil on Deep Gallery Wrap Canvas
Shining Through Sunflowers was my class demonstration this morning in Flower Mound Studio. We had an exciting day, hosting a student who flew down from Delaware for a private lesson. The pugs especially were delighted with Judith's visit, since this lovely lady has a bulldog and spent a great deal of time lavishing affection and words of praise and adoration upon my little snuffle nosed helpers.

On another exciting note, I'm delighted to announce registration has opened for my Shreveport, Louisiana workshop! If you think Texas has a lot of talented artists, I highly recommend you take a peek at the talent pool in Louisiana, too. It is striking how many accomplished painters these two states have between them. My next goal is to join some of these ladies for their plein air outings in an effort to become as immune to the heat in the name of chasing the light, and art in its truest form. Stay tuned for that journey to come! (Now that it's 100 degrees out each day, it might be a few months, but stay tuned...!)

Florida Landscape | Small Oil Painting | Daily Painting | Palm Grove by Carol Schiff | 8x6" Oil | SOLD

I was on a photo shoot one late afternoon, walking though wetlands and knee high grasses.  I was getting a little anxious as the wildlife and creepy crawlies get more active as the sun goes down.  When I came home, I found several reference photos that I was interested in painting, which made it all worth while.

SOLD

I liked the way the early evening light was hitting these palms, turning them from gray to gold.  This is a little study for a much larger piece that I am interested in trying.  Hopefully, I can get to it soon.

I just love how this piece captured that essence!

My new video

A new four-foot tulip painting is under construction in Flower Mound studio, where we are celebrating the arrival of *cue trumpets* my first DVD! The big ole box arrived today. They look so neat and well organized, unlike other parts of my studio! Tomorrow the winner of a full day private lesson arrives from Delaware, so the pugs and I will be entertaining and one of us will actually be teaching.

I went back and forth on this Appaloosa Painting.  It is really much prettier in hand than in the image. Stop by my website by clicking the link above to see some close up shots of this painting. This is the second of two more realistic paintings I did this week.  The Appaloosa is definitely one of my favorite horses to paint.
