Swaying Palms, Abstract Palette Knife Landscapes and Seascapes by Janet Bludau
I can't remember a time that I didn't have an artistic pursuit but I found my true love with painting. Although I enjoy exploring with different techniques and materials, I primarily work in oils with an abstract style. Thick paint placed with a palette knife and strong geometric shapes are often found in my paintings.
After earning a degree in Business Admin/Marketing, I went on to several "Big Girl" corporate jobs and then owned and ran a design business in Hawaii, importing antiques from the mainland. My education was rounded out through the UC Berkeley Extension Art Program and the College of Marin Art and Design Program. I am fortunate to have had wonderful instructors as well as the insightful critiques of my fun, fellow painters.

Judy Mackey YouTube Video Beaches
Summer is surely here. Time does fly - and the month of June is nearly ended. I asked a friend who composes fantastic R&B and soft rock music if I could have a snippet of his beautiful song titled "Gabriel's Big Day" to add to a video of my paintings. The melody is so soothing it seemed appropriate for beach and water scenes.

Perfect Spot - Janet Bludau
Raised in Southern California I of course love the beach. Here is my all time favorite thing to do at the beach: Sit on the sand in just the perfect spot so that the water washes up past where you are sitting and then washes back out to sea. The "perfect spot" is key. You don't want to feel like a big wave is rushing over you but you want enough water so that the sand underneath is soaked each time.
I am so looking forward to a little sand time soon.
