Landscape study, oil on paper by Joseph Mahon

A landscape study on paper 7x10 ins. I use oil painting paper at times to try out different compositions and colour schemes or just work out an idea. This little painting is of a view near to where I live. I was mostly interested in the sky and creating distance and depth using a palette knife and brush. Cool colours to the background and warmer colours towards the foreground with texture
