Still Life Daily Oil Painting "Le Belle Poivron Rouge", 6x8"

I find I have missed painting still life, so it has been fun catching up on it over the last week.

If I could just stop sleeping, I would have an additional 5 or 6 hours a day to paint.

Maybe then I would have enough time to paint both my still life and my landscapes.....but what about the abstract/mixed media  I also want to try?  Maybe I better work on growing another set of arms instead!

"Red Pepper Charm" Red Pepper Painting by Jill Saur

Bright, cheerful, and full of texture, is the best description of this 8"x8" palette knife painting on a wide canvas.  I found some great red peppers at my local farmers market.  When I know I am going to use fresh produce for a painting, I take my time to pick out pieces that seem to have the most shape and character.

"The Muse" Red Pepper Painting by Jill Saur

Vivid, bold and dazzling describes this 8"x10" acrylic palette knife painting.  This painting is ready to hang without a frame because it is painted on a wide canvas and the sides are painted.  The thick rich texture in this painting is quite lush.  I named this piece, "The Muse" because though it is a small piece, it is quite entertaining!
