Rattled by Kay Wyne

Rattled
24" x 24" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Abstract Painting
I remember the day that I painted this contemporary abstract.  As I was starting this painting in the studio when I received a very annoying telephone call from a gallery owner.  The interruption shifted my mood and the plans I had for the canvas.  I was derailed.  The color palette that I used and the bold strokes tell that on the canvas.  I used oil sticks and oil paints with brushes and a palette knife to indicate the frustration and energy I had that day.  This painting is at the studio, and would love to move to a new home.  Contact Kay for more info.  Thanks for looking at this blog...Kay

Oddball Pig - Janet Bludau

6 x 6
Oil on Board
$50 on my website

I entered two paintings of pigs on a painting challenge site.  The second one will be posted following this one.  I like doing these challenges as they, well, challenge me to paint things I most likely never would have.  Months ago I painted a chicken!  I doubt that I would have ever painted a chicken otherwise.  Then there was the "rectangle challenge".  Your painting had to be done in rectangular shapes only.  Its always fun to see what they will come up with next. I hope they bring you a smile :)
