Impulsive by Kay Wyne

Impulsive
18" x 18" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Floral Landscape
Yesterday, when I was at the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas I was talking to a couple who admired this painting.  I said that it was a part of of a series that I have been work on - Floral Landscapes.  They thought it was an abstract with roosters in it.  So if that is what they see in this painting, it is an abstract rooster painting.  I see patches of color indicating wildflowers popping up in the landscape.  If you let your imagination run wild you could probably see something other than roosters or flowers.  I used alot of impasto, palette knives, brushes and cut-away tools with the oils on this painting.  Lots of texture.  Anyway, the reception for the juried art show, Pursuit of the Southwest was good.  Lots of people attended, and there were four or five paintings sold through out the day.  Thanks for looking at this blog....contact Kay for more info.  Kay
