Painting on location in December inspired this studio piece. I started with a warm thin layer of  paint to cover the white on the canvas. I then used a lot of grays to project the mood I wanted. I enjoyed using a softer palette on this Texas landscape painting.

This was inspired from our recent trip to Colorado.  We rented a cabin nestled in forest of Aspen trees. It created a view with soft colors.  I created this in the studio from a small study done on location. I wanted to focused on  a cool color combo. I created this from a small plein air study I did a few years ago. That spring the bluebonnets were sparse and hard to find.
