Life's Saviings Lost by Bob Read
I painted this many years ago from a 2x3 newspaper clipping. This woman had just been bilked out of her life's savings by a con artist. Her hands were especially difficult for me. I probably spent as much time on them as the balance of the painting. It is largely brush with some knife work. You can see my other paintings at http://www.bobreadartist.com/.
When I'm not painting, I enjoy blogging about my life's experiences on my website www.bobreadartist.com. In my former lives I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in India where I taught math and physics, then went into journalism and TV news where I was an anchorman/reporter/news director, then into real estate for many years. Now retired and serious about my painting and writing.
