Indiana Sunflower 13039
Oil, 8x8 in.
Painted on Ampersand Gessobord
I painted a 6x6 sunflower in oil in the 30/30 challenge and it got a got of positive comment and sold. See Blog post HERE I used the palette knife with lots of texture. This sunflower was painted on day 3 of the Dreama Tolle Perry oil workshop in Carmel Indiana. The last day was the musical easel exercise I mentioned in my last blog post and then each student brought some individual images to work from and I chose to try another oil sunflower.
Some have asked what exactly is a gessobord and here is Ampersand's link HERE. The panels can be framed or could sit on a table top easel. HERE are some choices for table top easels at Easel Moments. I really like these panels for traveling as they fit well in the Ray Mar Wet Carriers HERE.
If you want to frame you can't beat the Franken Frames and several of the art supply stores have a good choice of floater frames like Jerry's Artarama.
If you like sunflowers you might like one on your checks. Here is another image available on my Check Advantage checks. Click on the floral group and the sunflower will be there.
